Sariah's mom says Sariah was right, as so often. I have linked to you on my blog, as well.

Ernest, thank you for what you are doing, for your great attitude, and for sharing all this.

God bless you, our good soldiers, and the Iraqi people.

I love your blog!! I've only made it through October 2004 and anxious to read more! It's nice to read something from the perspective of someone who is there. Thanks! Our prayers are with you!

I guess I am one of many adoring fans when I say "thankyou and God bless you" for what you are doing. But let me add one thing: Your attitude about what you are doing and what you see totally blows my mind. I don't think I'd ever be able to stay as positive given the circumstances. Imagine how many lives you are touching. Mine included!
Thanks
Karyn

Thank you for your amazing words at my site! And you are of course right, He lives, and that is and should be our hope no matter what our circumstances. The slant, for lack of a better term, your faith gives your blog is what makes it so beautiful. I have also enjoyed your pictures, which show so much more the reality of the people's hearts there than what we see on the news. So once again, for the reasons I have said before, thank you. I know God will continue to bless you, and I know you will continue to see the blessings.

Yes, God bless you.

Are you hearing anything over there about the draft? I'm concerned that we don't have enough troops over there to support each other. But I know from next to nothing about the military.

No draft necessary is my understanding. Recruiting in America is down slightly from goals, but re-enlistment is up substantially! The soldiers are very proud of the work they do here.

As the Iraqis pick up the work formerly done by the American soldiers, more and more down-time is common. Larger numbers of soldiers are only kept here in case of urgency, like the up-coming elections.

Most media hype is negative and almost always wrong. Before the war, for example, you may remember they predicted 10s of thousands of soldiers dying. Even Katrina was supposed to kill into the thousands and of course it was much, much less.

Rest assured, we are in good hands here.
